Crochet Vlog | October 2025
This is the first of my weekly vlogs where I chit-chat about what I'm working on and what's to come. In this video, I'm explaining why I'm starting my textile and stationery business, and the sweater that I'm working on with Noro "Uchiwa" yarn and a "nubby" stitch from "Essential Crochet: Next-Level Stitches" by Melissa Leapman.
I believe that textiles can be a part of reasserting human power and community. As we face the growing turbulence in American life, taking back our relationship to natural fibers, the means of production, and the histories held by fiber works, is essential. This work is my small contribution to retaining our agency as a people to the histories, stories, crafts, and heritages that belong to us all. Join me in my journey to step back from fast fashion and single-use/disposable office items, and divest from corporations that are handing us over to authoritarianism and oligarchy. I will be opening up an Etsy shop soon once I have built up a sizable inventory. Thanks for watching!
P.S. When this vlog was published, the shop was named “Black Flower Office & Stationery.” The shop's name has been changed! It is now called "Written In Sunstone."
